India and Maldives

A romantic itinerary suitable for a honeymoon that travels through some of the most beautiful cities in India, from the capital Delhi to Agra, the city of love, Jaipur, sparkling and colourful, Udaipur with its magnificent lake, where they are still the dynastic imprints of their luxuriant past are alive and unaltered. The journey ends with a stay in the magnificent islands of the Maldives, with their crystal clear and pristine sea where you can practice water sports, snorkeling, diving or simply relax on the white sand. Just like little maharajas.

Day 01: Arrival in Delhi

Upon arrival at the airport in Delhi, meeting with our staff for presentations. Transfer to hotel and overnight stay.

 

Day 02: Delhi

Breakfast and then tours in the Old and New Delhi. External visit of the Red Fort, built in 1639 by the emperor Mogul Shah Jahan (the creator of the Taj Mahal) and since 2007 UNESCO heritage. Visit the imposing Jama Masjid flies, also commissioned by Shahjehan and completed in 1656. We cross the characteristic Chandni Chowk market built in the 17th century by the emperor himself. Visit to the Raj Ghat, the site of the cremation in 1948. Continuation for the new Delhi up to the government palaces and Connaught Place. Stop at India Gate. the arch erected in memory of the Indian soldiers who died fighting for the English in the First World War. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 03: Delhi / Agra (Km.205 - approx 4 hrs)

Breakfast and departure for Agra, the city of love. In the afternoon visit of the Taj Mahal (closed on Friday), UNESCO heritage, the magnificent monument of which Shah Jahan, for the sake of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal who died in childbirth, ordered the construction that was finished in 1653. Their bodies lie in a simple crypt. Visit to the Red Fort, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose construction was commissioned by the Emperor Akbar in 1565. Visit of the Pearl Mosque and the Halls of Hearing. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 04: Agra / Fatehpur Sikri / Jaipur (Km. 240 - approx 5 hrs)

Breakfast, departure for Jaipur with a stop in Fatehpur Sikri, a complex of monuments and temples built in 1569 by Emperor Akbar during the Mughal period, considered the richest period in Indian history. The city was abandoned 15 years later due to the lack of water but its buildings and pavilions in red sandstone are perfectly preserved. Visit the sacred Jama Masjid, the Buland Darwaza, the main entrance to this ancient city, the tomb of Shaikh Salim Chisti, Birbal Bhawan (dedicated to the greatest court counselor of Akbar - Birbal), the inner courtyards where Jodha Bai stayed and of the internal harem reserved for Hindu wives. Continue to Jaipur the "pink city" from the pink sandstone buildings that characterize the beautiful old city. Enclosed by hills, this city was founded by Maharaja Jai ​​Singh II, and is the capital of Rajasthan. The whole city was painted in pink by Man Singh, when the Prince of Wales and then Edward VII visited it in 1876. Today, every house is obliged by law to maintain this color for the façade. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Giorno 05: Jaipur 

Breakfast and excursion to the famous Amber fort, 11 kms. from the city, Amber was the ancient capital of the state and the seat of all the Rajput dynasties until the founding of Jaipur. The construction of this fort began in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I. This magnificent fort is built in yellow and pink sandstone and white marble. Return to the city and stop in the front of the Palace of Winds or Hawa Mahal, built in 1799 to allow the ladies of the court to observe, without being seen, the daily life in the streets. Visit of City Palace, still the residence of the royal family although a part of its is open to public. Followed by a visit of the Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory, the World Heritage site, built by Maharaja Jai ​​Singh II between 1727 and 1734 on the model of similar structures already erected in Delhi. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 06: Jaipur / Udaipur (Km. 450 - approx 6 hrs)

Breakfast and departure for Udaipur, "the Venice of the East", the "city of lakes", the "city of the dawn", the "white city", there are many appellations to define this romantic city with fabulous palaces in white marble and the magnificent Lake Pichola. Udaipur, founded in the 16th century by Maharana Udai Singh, is known for its handicrafts, marble items, paintings, silverware and terracotta. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 07: Udaipur

Breakfast. In the morning visit of the City Palace which is mirrored in the lake and which is the largest Royal Palace in the state of Rajasthan, consisting of 5 buildings that form a citadel where the city Maharaja currently lives. Part of the City Palace is a museum and part is a luxury hotel. Late afternoon, boat trip on Lake Pichola to enjoy the sunset. Dinner and overnight at the hotel

 

Day 08:  Udaipur / Delhi ( by flight)

After breakfast trasferimento to aeroporto to connect flight for Delhi. Meet with our staff on arrival at airport and transfer to hotel. Visit to the Qutub Minar complex, a 73-meter high tower, engraved with verses from the Koran, built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak.  Overnight at the hotel.

Day 09: Delhi / Male (by flight)

After breakfast transfer to airport to connect flight for Male. On arrival at Male meet with our staff and transfer to one of the island selected for you. 

Day 10 - 13: Male

Day at relax to enjoy the beautiful sea of Maldives 

Day 14: Leave from Male

Transfer to airport to connect to connect flight for onward destinations.
