Rajasthan, a name that recalls folklore, heroism and romance. The culture of its people is jealously preserved, the grandeur of its strong remembers great kingdoms and the beauty of its forests and lakes lead you in a fairy tale. The bright sand dunes of desert, crossed on the back of a camel at sunset, creating a romantic atmosphere.
Day 01: Arrival in Delhi
Upon arrival at the airport in Delhi, personal encounter with our staff for presentations. Transfer to hotel and overnight.
Day 02: Delhi
Breakfast and proceed for Old Delhi tour. Panoramic tour of the Red Fort , built in 1639 by Emperor Shah Jahan Mogul and today a UNESCO heritage site. Visit the imposing Jama Masjid mosque, also commissioned by Shahjehan and completed in 1656. Passing through the 17th century Chandni Chowk, one of the biggest market of India. Visit the Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Gandhi died in 1948. Continuation to new Delhi and visit of the government building. Stop at India Gate, bow in memory of the Indian soldiers who died in the First World War. Visit of Sikh temple "Bangla sahib" of Delhi. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Delhi / Jaipur (Km.270 - approx 6 hrs)
After breakfast visit the complex of Qutub Minar, 73 meters high tower, engraved with verses of the Koran, built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak. Later leave to Jaipur, the "Pink City" with its pink sandstone buildings in the beautiful old town. In the evening Rikshaw ride through the Old bazar of Jaipur. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Jaipur
Breakfast and visit of Amber fort, built in the sixteenth century by Raja Man Singh I, the ancient capital of the state and home to all the Rajput dynasties until the founding of Jaipur. Internally, it is decorated with sculptures, mirrors, precious stones. Access the entrance of the fort on elephant back or jeep. Return to the city and stop in front of the magnificent Palace of Winds or Hawa Mahal. Visit of Jaipur, founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727, the ruler of Amber. Visit the City Palace, the historic seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, built in the eighteenth century by Sawai Jai Singh II, the current residence of the royal family. Visit of Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory, UNESCO site, a set of architectural forms used as astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II between 1727 and 1734. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 05: Jaipur / Chittorgarh / Udaipur (Km. 420 - approx 6 hrs)
Breakfast and leave to Udaipur, enroute visiting Chittorgarh, one of the most old and largest fort of Rajasthan, probably dating from the seventh century, it was a protagonist of the struggles between Hindus and Muslims. Proceed for Udaipur, founded in the sixteenth century by Maharana Udai Singh, also called "Venice of the East", "city of lakes", "white city". This romantic city is famous for his fabulous white marble palaces on the beautiful lake Pichola. Udaipur is known for its handicrafts, marble items, paintings, silverware and pottery. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 06: Udaipur
Breakfast and visit of City Palace, the largest palace of Rajasthan state, formed by 5 palaces forming a citadel, a part of it is transformed in Museum and other part is a residence of royal family. Visit of Jagdish temple and garden of royal ladies "Saheliyo ki bari" In the late afternoon, boat trips on the lake to enjoy the sunset. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 07: Udaipur / Ranakpur / Jodhpur (Km. 260 - approx 6 hrs)
Breakfast and departure to Jodhpur with a stop at Ranakpur Jain complex that dates back to the 15th century. The temple is dotted with refined mythological sculptures, marble columns, stained, decorations like fine embroidery, as the West Indian style. Continuation to Jodhpur. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 08: Jodhpur / Jaisalmer (Km. 280 - approx 6 hrs)
Jodhpur called "Blue City", for its fifteenth century houses painted in indigo. Afternoon visit to Mehrangarh Fort, whose construction began in 1458 by Rao Jodha , and the residence Rathore dynasty rulers. The palace and the fort are home to collections of palanquins, elephant sedans, musical instruments, costumes, furniture, weapons and tombs. Visit of Jaswant Thanda, a white marble mausoleum built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in 1899, place of the cremation of the royal family. In the afternoon leave for Jaisalmer.
Day 9: Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer, in the Thar desert, dominated by a fortress which houses the palace and many Jain temples. Around, endless sand hills, some as high as 46 meters. With ancient alleys, splendid temples and "haveli", Jaisalmer was founded in 1156 by the Rajput Rawal Jaisal and was a resting place for caravans pacing the Silk Road; of that time, beautiful buildings carved with yellow sand stone built by princes and merchants, and that attributed to the city the name of "city of gold". Visit of two Jain temples dating back to 1100. Walk in the city to see the most beautiful Havelies. In the later afternoon departure for a trip to Sam or Khuri, to watch the sunset over the dunes. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Jaisalmer / Bikaner (Km. 330 - approx 5 hrs)
Breakfast and departure to Bikaner, famous for its ancient havelis. Stop in Kheechan, a natural sanctuary for birds where about 4000 Demoiselle Crane (Anthropoides virgo) arrive each winter from September to March, to escape the cold of Europe. Continue to Bikaner. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 11: Bikaner / Samode / Chomu (Km. 300 - approx 5 hrs)
Breakfast and departure for the village of Samode with its fairytale eighteenth-century mansion, located between the Aravalli mountains. Continue to Chomu and time to walk through the small bazaar. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 12: Chomu / Fatehpur Sikri / Agra (Km. 270 - approx 5 hours)
Breakfast and departure to Agra. Lunch at the palace of the Maharaja of Bharatpur. Stop at Fatehpur Sikri, built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years for water shortages. Its palaces and pavilions are perfectly preserved with red sandstone. Arrive in Agra. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 13: Agra
Breakfast and visit of Taj Mahal (closed on Friday), mausoleum of Muslim art, heritage UNESCO, the emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife wanted Mumtaz Mahal died in childbirth; The construction ended in 1653. Visit the Red Fort, also UNESCO Heritage, whose construction was started by Emperor Akbar in 1565. At its core, inlaid white marble palaces and mosques with precious stones. Day 14: Agra / Delhi (Km.210 - approx 4 hrs)
