Lakshadwdeep emerald of Arabian sea

The Laccadive are a tropical archipelago of 36 atolls and coral reefs in the Laccadive Sea, off the coast of Kerala, the climate is tropical with temperatures ranging from 26 to 32 degrees. Not all islands are inhabited and only a few are open to visitors. The islands are pristine atolls, preserved from pollution and considered among the last bio-marine paradises on earth. Seen from the sky, the Laccadive, the wildest archipelago in the Indian Ocean, look like emeralds thrown into turquoise waters, drops of earth studded with palm trees, scattered along the southwestern coast of India. Their Hindi name is Laksha dweep and means one hundred thousand islands, in reality they are 36 of which only 10 are inhabited. Divided into two groups, the Amindivi to the north and the Laccadive to the south, are scattered on a 200 square kilometer slice of sea. The atolls are the top of coral reefs on which a surface of coral sand has been deposited and the landscapes are breathtaking: long strips of white beach separate the green of the palm trees from the blue of the ocean. Bangaram is a tiny teardrop-shaped island very close to Agatti and Karavatti. The tourist resort on the island offers its guests the opportunity to breathe a sigh of relief from the tensions of modern life. In the same lagoon two small Thinnakara and Parali islands. During the night the phosphorescent plankton approaches on the shores in the coral sand giving the beach an absolutely enchanting bluish brilliance. Resort guests can enjoy transfers both by boat and helicopter to and from Agatti. Being the only resort in the Laccadive on an uninhabited beach, it has its own special attraction. An ideal destination for sea-loving tourists, the island has gained its presence in international tourist guides.
